The ½-Day Simon’s Town Shark Cage Diving tour offers an exciting marine adventure along South Africa’s beautiful coastline. This experience is perfect for thrill seekers and nature lovers alike. Guests can enjoy close shark encounters while exploring the rich waters of False Bay. In addition, the tour combines adrenaline, education, and breathtaking scenery in one unforgettable trip.
Your journey begins in Simon’s Town, a popular coastal destination known for its marine wildlife and scenic harbor views. From there, you will travel into the waters of False Bay aboard a professional shark diving vessel. Before the trip begins, experienced crew members provide a full safety briefing and explain the diving procedures. They also share fascinating information about sharks, marine life, and ocean conservation.
The highlight of the Simon’s Town Shark Cage Diving experience is the surface cage dive. Guests enter a secure cage attached to the boat for safe shark viewing. As a result, you can witness these incredible predators swimming only meters away. The close encounters create excellent opportunities for photography and unforgettable memories. Meanwhile, guests who prefer to stay on the boat can still enjoy amazing shark sightings from the deck.
Furthermore, this all-year-round activity is suitable for both beginners and experienced adventurers. Professional equipment and expert guidance are included throughout the experience. After the tour, many visitors leave with a deeper appreciation for marine wildlife and ocean conservation. Therefore, the Shark Cage Diving tour remains one of the most exciting activities along the Cape coastline.
Your adventure begins with morning transport to Simon’s Town Harbour, where you arrive at the dive centre to complete paperwork and receive a full safety briefing. After boarding the boat (maximum 18 guests), you’ll cruise into False Bay, enjoying scenic coastal views and possible sightings of seals, seabirds, and seasonal whales.
Upon reaching the dive site near Seal Island, the crew provides an educational shark behaviour briefing before anchoring and attracting sharks to the boat. The surface cage is lowered, and guests rotate in small groups for breath-hold cage dives, coming face-to-face with sharks in their natural environment. Qualified divers may request hookah scuba (visibility permitting).
After 3–4 hours at sea, with snacks and refreshments served onboard, the boat returns to Simon’s Town Harbour, concluding an unforgettable marine experience.
